Torrance Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule

Regular Collection Schedule

• Trash and recycling collection occurs once per week on a designated day for each home
• Collection days are Monday through Thursday from 7 AM to 5:30 PM
• Carts must be placed curbside by 7 AM on your collection day
• Find your designated collection day by searching your address on the collection day map

Holiday Schedule Changes

• If a holiday falls on a weekday, collection is delayed by one day for the remainder of that week
• For example, if a holiday falls on Monday, Monday collection moves to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, etc.
• Street sweeping still occurs Monday-Thursday and is not impacted by holidays
• Large item pickup is suspended during Christmas tree recycling

Major Holidays Impacting Collection

The following major holidays impact the weekly collection schedule:

• New Year’s Day
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• President’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

Christmas Tree Recycling

• From December 26 – January 31, residents can place Christmas trees curbside on your designated collection day for recycling
• Remove all decorations, stands, nails, spikes, and plastic bags
• Trees over 6 feet must be cut in half

Missed Collections

If your trash or recycling was not collected on your scheduled day:

• Double check it was placed curbside before 7 AM
• Report missed collections by 8 AM the next day to the Customer Service Center

Large Item Pickup

• Twice per year, residents can schedule a free large item pickup of furniture, appliances, mattresses etc.
• Use the Large Item Pickup form to submit a request
• Large item pickup is not available during Christmas tree recycling
