Trash Collection

  • Trash is collected once per week on a set day depending on your address.

  • Use the Pickup Day Map on the city’s website to find your trash collection day.

  • Enter your address and the map will show your collection day.

  • Trash should be placed curbside in city-provided carts before 7AM on your collection day.

Recycling Collection

  • Recycling is collected every other week on the same day as your regular trash pickup.

  • Check the Pickup Day Map to see if you are on “green week” or “gold week” for recycling.

  • Recycling weeks alternate, with green one week and gold the next.

  • Download the Recycling Collection Calendar to view the schedule.

  • Place recycling curbside before 7AM on collection days in the city-provided cart.

Yard Waste Collection

  • Yard waste like leaves, grass clippings, and branches are collected weekly on the day after your trash collection.

  • Yard waste should be placed in biodegradable paper bags or reusable containers marked “yard waste.”

  • Tree branches must be cut to 4-feet lengths and bundled.

  • Yard waste is taken to a local composting facility.

Bulk Item Pickup

  • Bulk items like furniture, appliances, and other large items are collected on your second pickup day of the month.

  • Check the Bulk Pickup Calendar for designated collection weeks.

  • Items must be placed curbside by 7AM on the pickup day.

  • Call 501-371-8340 to schedule pickup of more than 4 cubic yards of items.

Holiday Schedule

Trash and recycling collection is delayed by one day when the pickup falls on or after these holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Recycling Program Overview

Little Rock’s recycling program accepts the following common household items:

  • Paper and cardboard
  • Plastic containers #1-7
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Aluminum and steel cans
  • Milk and juice cartons
  • Pizza boxes (no food residue)

Items that cannot be recycled include plastic bags, polystyrene foam, household hazardous waste, and more. See the full list of accepted materials.
