Concord, the capital city of New Hampshire, provides trash and recycling collection services to residents through a contract with Casella Waste Systems. Trash and Recycling Collection Basics

Trash and recycling are collected curbside once per week on designated days depending on location. Collection occurs Monday through Friday, and Saturday on weeks with holidays.

Collection routes are organized into zones. Find your collection day on the route collection map.

Trash and recycling must be at the curb by 7 AM on your scheduled day.

The city provides one recycling bin per household. Any rigid container labeled as recycling is acceptable.

Trash must be in designated purple pay-as-you-throw bags purchased from local retailers.

Yard waste cannot be placed with trash or recycling. Use the spring and fall curbside leaf collection instead.

Holiday Schedule Changes
On certain holidays, trash and recycling collection is postponed by 1 day through Saturday that week. See the holiday schedule for exact dates. The Concord Transfer Station is also closed on these holidays.
Holidays with collection delays in 2023:
- Memorial Day (May 29)
- Independence Day (July 4)
- Labor Day (September 4)
- Thanksgiving (November 23)
- Christmas Day (December 25)
Automated Collection Coming Soon
Concord will transition to automated trash collection using wheeled toters starting July 1, 2028 per a new contract with Casella. This will occur after a pilot phase from 2026-2028. More details to come as available.
