Trash Collection Schedule
- Trash is collected weekly on the same day each week.

- Trash must be placed at the curb by 6 AM on collection day.
Recycling Collection Schedule
- Recycling is collected every other week on the same day as trash pickup.
- The city has 2 recycling routes – A and B. Check the collection schedule app or Recycling Calendar to confirm your route.
- Recycling must be placed curbside by 6 AM on collection day.
Holiday Schedule
Trash collection is delayed by one day when a major holiday falls during the week:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
Example: If the holiday is on Monday, Monday pickup shifts to Tuesday. The rest of the week is delayed by one day.
Placement Guidelines
- Place carts within 2 feet of the curb or alley line.
- Leave 3-4 feet space between carts and any obstacles like trees, poles, or parked cars.
- Clear snow and ice around carts in winter.
- Remove empty carts from the curb by the evening after collection day.
Accepted Materials
Kenosha accepts the following curbside:
Trash: All household waste must be bagged. Items like furniture can be bundled or boxed.

Yard Waste: Grass clippings, leaves, brush, etc. Must be in city-approved compostable bags.
