Ontario, CA Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule

Ontario is a city located in San Bernardino County, California. This article provides an overview of the trash and recycling collection schedule for residential properties in Ontario.

Trash Collection

• Trash collection occurs once per week on a designated day depending on your address.

• Find your collection day by entering your address on the online lookup calendar.

• Trash must be placed in city-issued carts or bags not exceeding 40 lbs each.

• Up to 5 containers or bags of trash are allowed per week.

• Carts should be placed at the curb by 6AM on collection days.

Recycling Collection

• Recycling is collected every other week on the same day as your trash pickup.

• Check the collection calendar to see if your recycling falls on a green or blue week.

• Accepted recyclables include plastic containers, glass, cardboard, paper, and aluminum cans. Do not bag recyclables.

• Use the city-provided cart and overflow can go in cardboard boxes or paper bags.

Yard Waste Collection

• Yard waste is collected weekly from mid-March through mid-December.

• Grass, leaves, brush and tree trimmings must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or containers marked “yard waste”.

• Branches cannot exceed 4 feet in length.

• Set out yard waste on your collection day.

Bulky Item Collection

• Bulky items like furniture and appliances are picked up monthly on your regular collection day.

• Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic. TVs are not accepted.

Household Hazardous Waste

• Hazardous waste like chemicals, batteries, and lightbulbs can be dropped off at the HHW Facility on Cucamonga Ave, open Fri-Sat.

• Collection is delayed by one day after a holiday.
