Trash and Recycling Guidelines

• Place carts curbside by 6 AM on pickup day.

• Carts must be 3 feet apart and 3 feet from mailboxes or poles.

• Black carts are for trash only.

• Blue carts are for recycling only. Do not bag recyclables.

• Extra trash left outside carts will not be collected.

Trash Fees

Bear-Proof Trash Carts

Residents can opt for a bear-proof trash cart for an annual fee of $144, prorated if starting mid-year. Carts remain property of the hauler. Contact USA Hauling to order.

Holiday Schedules

Trash pickup is delayed by one day in the week of these holidays:

• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• July 4th
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving
• Christmas Day

Recycling occurs on the normal schedule.

Christmas Tree Pickup

Trees are collected curbside in January on your normal pickup day. Trees may also be dropped off at the town landfill for free mulching.

Prescription medications can be safely disposed of in the drop box at the Suffield Police Department at 911 Mountain Road.
