Heavy trash must be set out by 7 AM on your designated day. It will be collected sometime during the day.

Your heavy trash pickup day depends on where you live in Houston. There are five collection zones:
- Zone 1: 1st Monday of the month
- Zone 2: 2nd Monday of the month
- Zone 3: 3rd Monday of the month
- Zone 4: 4th Monday of the month
- Zone 5: 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesday of the month

Follow these guidelines when setting materials curbside:
- Items must be placed at the curb by 7 AM on your scheduled day
- Total volume cannot exceed 8 cubic yards (about the size of two standard pickup trucks)
- No construction debris, hazardous waste, or loose debris
- Tree waste must be bundled separately for collection

Scheduling Special Heavy Trash Pickups
If you need to dispose of more than 8 cubic yards of heavy trash, you can request a special pickup:
- Request by calling 311 at least 2 weeks in advance
- Special pickups are $77 per load
- Available for up to 12 cubic yards per pickup
- Only 2 special pickups allowed per address per year
