Buda, Texas provides trash and recycling collection services for residents through an exclusive contract with Texas Disposal Systems. This article provides an overview of trash and recycling schedules, services, and guidelines for the city of Buda.
Trash Collection

Trash collection in Buda is provided once per week on your designated service day.

To find your specific trash pickup day, enter your address in the Waste Wizard lookup tool provided by Texas Disposal Systems.

Trash collection is limited to the contents of your provided cart. An additional cart can be added for $8.31 per month.

Bagged trash next to carts will not be collected. Any extra trash must fit completely within your cart(s) with the lid fully closed.

Trash carts must be placed at the curb by 7AM on collection day. Carts should be removed from the curb by 10PM on collection day.

Holidays that affect trash pickup are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If your regular pickup day falls on or after one of these holidays, pickup will shift to the next weekday.
Recycling Collection

Recycling is collected once per week on your designated service day. This is the same day as your trash pickup.

Recycling collection includes mixed paper, cardboard, plastics #1-7, aluminum, steel, glass, and more. See full list of accepted recycle items.

Recycling is limited to your provided cart, plus one bundle of flattened cardboard tied together.

An additional recycling cart can be added for $3.86 per month.

Bagged recyclables next to carts will not be collected. Recyclables must be loose inside the cart.

Recycling carts must follow the same curb placement guidelines and holiday schedule as trash collection.
Green Waste Collection

Green waste like yard clippings, branches, and brush is collected once per week on your designated service day. This is the same day as your trash and recycling pickup.

Green waste is limited to 10 paper yard waste bags and/or up to 4 foot bundled branches per week.

Plastic bags and bags containing trash will not be collected.

Follow curb placement guidelines and holiday schedule for green waste as the other services.
Bulk and Brush Collection

Buda residents receive one free bulk item or brush collection per quarter upon request.

Bulk items are limited to 3 cubic yards of material.

Brush bundles must be no longer than 4 feet and weigh less than 35 pounds.

Contact Texas Disposal Systems at 800-375-8375 at least 48 hours before your collection day to schedule bulk or brush pickup.
Drop-Off and Other Services

Residents can drop off trash, recycling, brush, and bulk items at the Austin Community Landfill located at 9900 Giles Rd. Residents get 5 free cubic yards per month with proof of residency.

Roll-off dumpster rentals are available through Texas Disposal Systems for home projects and cleanouts.

Hazardous waste like chemicals, batteries, paint, and more can be dropped off at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
