Understanding TDS Trash Pickup Schedules in Texas

//

Admin

Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) is one of the largest independently-owned waste collection companies in Texas, providing trash, recycling, and compost pickup services to over 115,000 customers across Central Texas. If you are a TDS customer, it’s important to understand their trash collection schedule, including how it is impacted by holidays. This article will provide an overview of TDS trash pickup schedules to help you properly set out waste and recycling on the right days.

Regular Weekly Trash Pickup Schedule

TDS provides once a week trash collection service to residential customers on designated days depending on your location.

  • Trash pickup occurs Monday through Friday. Specific pickup days are assigned based on your neighborhood.

  • Recycling and compost are also collected weekly on your designated trash day.

  • Collection usually happens between 7 AM and 7 PM so containers should be curbside by 7 AM on your pickup date.

  • Pickup schedules do not change week to week, with the exception of holidays (see next section).

  • To find your exact collection days and set reminders, use the TDS Waste Wizard app.

  • TDS also offers roll-off dumpster rental and collection services for businesses. Dumpster pickup occurs on weekdays only, not weekends.

Trash Schedule Changes for Holidays

TDS observes three holidays each year when waste collection services are suspended:

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Day

If your regular pickup day falls on or after one of these holidays, pickup will slide to the next business day:

Holiday Impact on Pickup Schedule
Thanksgiving (Thursday) Thursday pickup moves to Friday, Friday to Saturday
Christmas Day (Monday) Monday pickup moves to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, etc.
New Year’s Day (Monday) Monday pickup moves to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, etc.

For example, if your regular trash day is Wednesday and Christmas Day is on a Monday, your pickup that week will slide to Thursday.

  • All other holidays are regular service days for TDS.

  • Lakeway
