Fort Worth provides monthly curbside bulk trash collection for residential households. This service allows residents to dispose of large, heavy, or bulky items that don’t fit in the standard trash carts.
Knowing the bulk collection schedule and following the city’s guidelines helps ensure your items are picked up properly.
When is My Bulk Pickup Week?
-
Fort Worth is divided into 4 areas for bulk trash pickup. Each area has a designated week per month when bulk items are collected.
-
Find your bulk collection week based on your address using the Bulk Collection Schedule Map and Calendar.
-
Bulk weeks run Monday-Saturday. Have items curbside by 7AM on Monday of your scheduled week.
-
Bulk items can be placed curbside as early as 6PM on the Friday before your scheduled week.
-
Crews will collect items through the following Saturday at 5PM.
-
Do not add bulk items curbside outside of your scheduled week. Wait until the next month.
Bulk Collection Guidelines
Follow these guidelines for successful bulk trash pickup:
Item Limit
-
Up to 10 cubic yards of bulk trash is collected from each household per month at no extra charge. This is about a pile 8ft x 6ft x 6ft.
-
Only 1 bulk pile is allowed per household per month.
-
Additional fees apply for piles larger than 10 cubic yards.
Placement
-
Bulk piles must be at least 2 feet away from trees, mailboxes, fences, fire hydrants, and other obstructions for collection.
-
Do not place underneath low hanging tree branches.
-
Separate household bulk trash from brush/yard waste into different piles spaced 2 feet apart.
Accepted Bulk Items
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Appliances without hazardous materials
- Up to 4 tires every 6 months (must be off rim)
- Scrap metal
- Up to 1 TV per month

-
$123.52 minimum fee for first 5 cubic yards
-
$107.40 per each additional 5 cubic yards, up to 30 cubic yards total
-
Avoid fees by following collection week schedule and limits.
-
You can also dispose of bulk items year-round for free at the Drop-Off Stations.
How to Prepare Bulk Items
Properly preparing your bulk trash helps ensure collection:
-
Clearly separate from brush piles.
-
Stack neatly curbside and contained in a single pile.
-
Break down or dismantle items if possible.
-
Remove doors from large appliances for safety.
-
Drain fluids from appliances, vehicles, and equipment.
