Flagstaff’s Bulk Trash Collection Program

//

Admin

Flagstaff provides bulky waste collection services to all single-family households within city limits. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know about Flagstaff’s bulk trash pickup schedule and guidelines.

Overview of Bulk Trash Service

  • Bulk trash collection is done in 5 geographic sections throughout Flagstaff, once every 5 weeks.

  • Pickups start on Mondays at 6AM in a neighborhood within the section. Crews then continue through all neighborhoods in that section throughout the week.

  • The city cannot provide an exact pickup date/time for each neighborhood. Scheduling depends on the time spent collecting the previous neighborhood.

  • Items should be placed at the curb no sooner than 1 week before the start date, and no later than 6AM on the Monday of your scheduled week.

Bulk Trash Guidelines

Follow these rules when setting out bulk items for collection:

  • Place items at the curb no earlier than 1 week before the start date for your section.

  • Do not place items past 6AM on the Monday of your scheduled week.

  • Do not block the sidewalk. Place items on the yard side of the sidewalk or on the parkway between the curb and sidewalk.

  • Keep piles neatly organized, no larger than 5ft x 5ft x 5ft.

  • Keep piles a minimum of 3 feet from all objects including utilities, mailboxes, and fences.

  • Do not block right-of-ways, sidewalks, pedestrian or bike access points.

  • The city prefers not to return to a neighborhood once pickup is complete. However, they will return for an extra fee of $114.15/half hour to cover labor and fuel. This can be scheduled anytime, not just during your bulk week.

  • Consider donating usable bulky items to local thrift or reuse stores. Learn more at www.flgrethinkwaste.org.
