Residents of Glenn Heights, Texas receive trash and recycling collection services through a contract with Community Waste Disposal (CWD). This article provides an overview of collection schedules, guidelines, and other key details for Glenn Heights trash and recycling service.

Collection Days

  • Trash is collected once per week on your designated day.

  • Recycling is collected every other week on the same day as your trash pickup.

Holiday Schedule

If the following holidays fall on or prior to your regular collection day, pickup will be delayed by one day:

Service continues as scheduled for all other holidays.

Collection Hours

Place all carts curbside by 7 AM on your collection day. Pickup occurs between 7 AM and 7 PM.

Trash Guidelines

  • Trash must be bagged and placed inside the provided 95-gallon cart. Do not overfill.

  • Make sure the lid is closed completely.

  • Keep carts 3 feet away from obstacles like mailboxes and parked cars.

  • Wheel carts to the curb with the opening facing away from the street.

Recycling Guidelines

  • Do not bag recyclables. Place loose items directly into the 95-gallon recycling cart.

  • Keep the cart lid closed. Do not overfill.

  • Refer to the list of accepted materials. Common recyclables include cardboard, paper, aluminum cans, tin cans, plastic bottles and jugs, and glass bottles and jars.

  • Make sure recyclables are clean and dry. Do not bag them.

Brush and Bulk Items

  • Brush must be bundled securely and tied. Bundles cannot exceed 4 ft x 2 ft or 50 lbs.

  • Bulk items like furniture are limited to 2 cubic yards per week.

  • Bagged leaves and boxed items must be 50 lbs or less.

  • Place neatly at the curb next to trash and recycling carts.

Household Hazardous Waste

  • Paint, chemicals, batteries, and electronics must be disposed through the CWD Door-side Collection Program.

  • Request pickup and receive a collection kit. Follow kit instructions for safe packaging.

  • Keep materials near your door on the scheduled date. Do not place curbside.

Missed Pickup

Contact CWD at (972) 392-9300 within 24 hours if your trash or recycling is missed on your scheduled day.

Cart Replacement

Call CWD to request a repaired or replacement cart at no charge, except for damage from fires.

Special Pickup

Extra Carts

Changing Service
