Residential Trash Collection

Killeen provides weekly garbage collection for residents. The city is divided into 4 zones, each with a designated collection day:
- Zone 1: Monday
- Zone 2: Tuesday
- Zone 3: Thursday
- Zone 4: Friday

Standard services included in monthly garbage fees ($19.78/month for a 96-gallon container):
- Weekly garbage collection using city-provided roll-out containers
- Weekly brush collection up to 6 cubic yards
- Weekly yard waste collection in bags only (6 bag limit)

Trash carts must be placed at the curb by 7AM on collection day. Carts should be placed with wheels and handles facing the house, about 4 feet from mailboxes or other obstacles.

Yard waste must be in bags weighing less than 50 pounds each. Brush must be cut into pieces less than 12 feet long.

Hazardous household waste, dirt, rocks, concrete, and other prohibited items cannot be placed in trash carts.

Bulk trash like furniture can be collected for an extra fee of $21 minimum for up to 3 cubic yards.
