Overview
- Trash and recycling collection in Natick is handled by the Town’s Department of Public Works.
- Trash is collected weekly on designated days depending on location.
- Recycling is collected alternately on a bi-weekly schedule depending on location.
- Collection services are not provided on major holidays.
Trash Collection
- All household trash must be placed in Town-approved blue trash bags. These blue trash bags can be purchased at local retailers.
- Trash bags should be placed curbside by 7 AM on collection day.
- Trash collection occurs once a week on designated weekdays depending on location:
- Monday: South Natick
- Tuesday: Natick Center
- Wednesday: South Natick and Natick Center
- Thursday: East Natick
- Friday: West Natick

Recycling Collection
- Recyclables must be placed in Town-provided recycling bins. No bags are permitted.
- Recycling bins should be placed curbside by 7 AM on collection day.
- Recycling collection occurs bi-weekly on alternating Fridays depending on location:
- Week 1: East Natick and Natick Center
- Week 2: West Natick and South Natick
- Accepted recyclables include paper, cardboard, glass bottles/jars, aluminum cans, and plastic containers.

Yard Waste Collection
- Yard waste must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or rigid containers labelled as “yard waste.”
- Yard waste is collected weekly from April to November on the same day as trash.
- From December to March, yard waste collection is by appointment only.
Bulky Item Collection
- Bulky items like furniture and mattresses are collected by appointment only.
- Residents must call the DPW at 508-647-6550 to schedule a bulky item pickup.
- Each household is allowed one bulky item pickup per calendar year at no charge. Additional pickups are $30 each.
Holiday Schedule

Trash and recycling collection are cancelled on the following major holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day

If the holiday falls on a Monday, collection for the remainder of the week is shifted back by one day.
