Trash and Recycling Collection Days

O’Fallon provides weekly curbside trash and biweekly recycling collection to residents. Collection days are determined by your address:

• Monday: Trash and recycling collection for homes north of Highway K and west of Highway 79
• Tuesday: Trash and recycling collection for homes south of Highway K and west of Firma Road
• Wednesday: Trash and recycling collection for homes north of Veterans Memorial Parkway and east of Highway 79
• Thursday: Trash and recycling collection for homes south of Veterans Memorial Parkway and east of Firma Road
• Friday: Trash and recycling collection for homes between Highway K and Veterans Memorial Parkway

Collection occurs between 6 AM and 5 PM. Carts should be placed at the curb by 6 AM on your scheduled pickup day.

Holiday Collection Schedules

Trash and recycling collection is not provided on the following holidays:

• New Year’s Day (January 1)
• Independence Day (July 4)
• Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday of November)
• Christmas Day (December 25)

When a holiday falls on your normal collection day, pickup will be delayed by one day through the end of that week.

For example, if your pickup is normally on Thursday and Thanksgiving lands on a Thursday, your collection will be delayed to Friday. Friday customers will be picked up on Saturday.

Trash Cart Regulations

To ensure efficient collection, the City of O’Fallon enforces regulations on trash cart usage:

• Carts may not exceed 50 gallons in volume and 50 pounds in weight
• All trash must be bagged inside carts
• Lids must be completely closed
• Do not overload carts or place items on the ground
• Carts must be 3-5 feet away from obstructions like mailboxes and cars

Extra trash that does not fit in your cart can be disposed of through a special pickup request. Fees apply based on volume.

Recycling Cart Guidelines

Follow these rules when setting out your recycling cart:

• All recyclables should be clean and loose (not bagged)
• Paper, cardboard, metal cans, plastic jugs and bottles are accepted
• Do not put plastic bags, food waste, yard waste, or trash in your recycling

Missed Collection

If your trash or recycling is not collected on your scheduled day, first confirm that carts were properly placed out by 6 AM. If they were, report the missed pickup right away by calling O’Fallon Environmental Services at (636) 379-5595.

Missed collections must be reported within 24 hours in order to get pickup. Make sure to provide your name, address, and the materials that were not collected.

Special Pickup

For large amounts of trash that don’t fit in your cart, O’Fallon offers a special pickup service. Options include:

• Bag Service: $2 per bag, five bag limit per collection.
• Yard Waste Collection: $10 minimum fee based on volume, scheduled monthly.
• Bulk Item Pickup: $20 minimum fee based on volume, scheduled as needed.

Drop-Off Locations

O’Fallon provides several drop-off sites to dispose of recycling, yard waste, and bulky items like mattresses. Main drop-off locations include:
