2024 Bulk Collection Schedule

The 2024 schedule will be released by the city in October 2023.

Bulk Trash Placement Rules and Guidelines

There are specific rules for when and how to place bulk trash for collection:

  • Bulk trash can be placed starting 9 days prior to your area’s collection week. See schedule.

  • All bulk items must be placed by 6 AM on the Monday of your scheduled collection week.

  • Keep bulk trash 5 feet away from objects like fire hydrants, poles, or vehicles.

  • 20 cubic yard limit per household. Piles larger will not be collected.

  • Tree branches must be less than 4 feet long and 12 inches in diameter.

Items Not Accepted as Bulk Trash

Certain items cannot be placed for bulk trash pickup. These include:

  • Hazardous waste – household chemicals, batteries, paints, oils, etc.

  • Loose grass, leaves, hedge clippings

  • Construction debris over 25 lbs or 4 feet long

  • Metal or car parts over 20 lbs or 4 feet long

  • Vehicle tires

  • Glass such as windows or mirrors

  • Appliances with refrigerants like refrigerators or AC units

Proper Disposal of Non-Bulk Items

For hazardous waste disposal, Phoenix residents can use the Household Hazardous Waste Program.

Appliances that use refrigerants like refrigerators and AC units can be recycled through the Appliance Recycling Program.

Tires can be recycled at any of the city’s 3 Recycle Phoenix Centers.

Construction debris can be hauled away using the city’s Roll Off Dumpster Rental Program.

Tree waste and green organics can be composted or placed for Green Organics Collection.
