Queen Creek Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule

//

Admin

Residents of Queen Creek, Arizona rely on regular trash and recycling collection services provided by the town. This article explains how trash and recycling collection is scheduled in Queen Creek, including holidays, zone maps, bulk pickups, cart placement, and more.

Overview of Collection Process

The Town of Queen Creek contracts waste and recycling collection services to Waste Connections of Arizona. Both trash and recycling carts are collected on the same day of the week based on your assigned zone.

There are four zone maps that divide up Queen Creek for collection purposes. Each zone is assigned a regular trash/recycling pickup day – either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. To find your pickup day, check the zone map or enter your address on the My QC Services map lookup tool.

Zone Maps and Pickup Days

The zones are as follows:

  • Zone 1: Monday pickup – Serves the southwest areas of Queen Creek
  • Zone 2: Tuesday pickup – Covers central and southeast Queen Creek
  • Zone 3: Wednesday pickup – North-central areas of town
  • Zone 4: Thursday pickup – Northeast section of Queen Creek

Carts must be placed curbside by 6 AM on your scheduled pickup day. Both trash (tan cart) and recycling (blue cart) are collected at the same time.

Holiday Schedule Changes

Certain holidays affect the trash and recycling schedule in Queen Creek:

  • Independence Day – July 4th (Zones 2, 3, and 4 impacted)
  • Thanksgiving – 4th Thursday of November (Zone 4 impacted)
  • Christmas Day – December 25th (All zones impacted)
  • New Year’s Day – January 1st (All zones impacted)

For these holidays, if your normal pickup day falls on the holiday, your pickup will shift to the following day. So if your normal day is Thursday, and New Year’s Day is on a Monday, your pickup that week will be on Friday.

Collections resume their normal schedule the week after a holiday.

Placement and Care of Carts

Proper cart placement and care ensures reliable collection:

  • Carts must be at the curb edge by 6 AM on your pickup day
  • Position carts 2-4 feet apart with handles facing your home
  • Do not overfill carts – lids should fully close
  • Do not place plastic bags in the recycling cart
  • Avoid placing yard waste in carts – “bag and tie” clippings for trash pickup

Damaged carts or missed pickups can be reported to Queen Creek Customer Service at 480-358-3450.

Bulk Trash Pickup

Each address is allowed one free bulk pickup per month. Bulk items include furniture, appliances, mattresses, and other large items. The pickup occurs on your normal trash day – no special scheduling is needed. Simply place bulk items curbside near your carts before 6 AM on pickup day.

Bulk items over 50 lbs should be called into Customer Service at 480-358-3450 for coordination and collection. For additional bulk pickups, there is a fee – call Customer Service for details.

Yard Waste and Household Hazardous Waste

Queen Creek offers proper disposal for yard waste and hazardous household items:

  • Yard waste like branches and grass clippings can be taken to the Town Transfer Station
  • Household hazardous waste like chemicals, batteries, CFL bulbs, and more are accepted at Town-sponsored collection events – see the schedule on the Household Hazardous Waste page

Getting Additional Carts

Most homes start with one 95-gallon tan trash cart and one 65-gallon blue recycling cart. To request additional carts:

  • Complete the Cart Request Form
  • There is a $6 monthly fee per extra trash cart
  • Extra recycling carts are provided free of charge
  • Cart delivery takes 5-7 business days after receiving the request

Avoiding Service Disruptions

To keep trash and recycling service running smoothly in Queen Creek:

  • Ensure carts are out by 6 AM on pickup day
  • Check the holiday schedule for impacted pickup days
  • Keep cart lids closed and avoid overfilling
  • Review the zone map to confirm your assigned pickup day
  • Report any missed pickups promptly to Customer Service

Proper cart use and following the collection schedule will help Queen Creek maintain timely, reliable waste and recycling service. Check the Town of Queen Creek Waste & Recycling page for additional details.
