Rehoboth Beach provides trash and recycling collection services for residents and businesses within the city limits. This article provides an overview of the collection schedule, acceptable materials, pickup policies, and contact information for the city’s waste management services.
Trash Collection

Twice-weekly trash collection runs from mid-April through the end of October. Pickup occurs on Mondays and Thursdays for the south side of Rehoboth, and Tuesdays and Fridays for the north side including Schoolvue.

From November to March, trash is collected once per week on Mondays for the south side, and Tuesdays for the north side and Schoolvue.

There is a special citywide pickup the Friday after Thanksgiving.

The city provides an annual Spring Bulk Pickup, typically the last week of April and first week of May. This is for large household items like furniture and appliances. Hazardous materials are not accepted.

Residents can schedule a special bulk pickup for discarded household items year-round for a fee ($75 minimum).
Recycling Collection

Weekly recycling pickup occurs every Friday from May through September.

From October through April, recycling is collected every other Friday.

Recyclables must be placed curbside between 6pm Thursday and 7am Friday for collection.

The city provides one free recycling bin to residents. Additional bins can be requested.
Yard Waste Collection

Yard waste is collected every other Wednesday year-round.

Spring Bulk Pickup also collects bundled yard debris.

Loose leaves and pine needles are collected weekly during leaf season from October through mid-May. South side on Thursdays, north side on Fridays.

Christmas tree collection occurs during the first weeks of January. Remove all decorations.
Trash Policies

Trash and recycling bins must be compatible with automated collection trucks. Contact the city for approved bins.

Rigid trash containers cannot be placed curbside before 6pm the evening prior to collection. Bagged trash cannot be placed curbside before 5am on collection day.

Containers must be removed from the curb by 9pm on collection day.

The city does not collect construction/demolition debris, hazardous materials, or electronics. Contact Delaware Solid Waste Authority to properly dispose of these items.
