Sierra Vista Trash Schedule

The City of Sierra Vista provides trash and sewer services for residents within city limits. This article covers everything you need to know about Sierra Vista’s trash and recycling collection schedule.

Collection Days

• Monday and Thursday – Areas north of Fry Blvd
• Tuesday and Friday – Areas south of Fry Blvd

Use the collection day map to determine your pickup days.

Trash is collected weekly. There is no municipal recycling program in Sierra Vista currently.

Holiday Schedule

If a holiday falls on or before your regular collection day, pickup for that week is delayed by one day.

Holidays that affect the trash schedule are:

• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

Bulky Item Pickup

• Up to 4 bulky items can be collected per pickup
• Items must be under 4 ft x 8 ft in size
• Freon must be recovered from appliances
• No construction debris

Bulky item pickup costs $15 for the first item and $5 for each additional item. Schedule online or call 520-458-5775.

Dumpster Rental

Residents can rent a dumpster from the city for larger waste projects. Choose a 10 yard or 20 yard container. Rental includes delivery, 7 days of use, and collection.

• 10 yard dumpster – $175
• 20 yard dumpster – $225

Trash Cart Sizes

Sierra Vista offers 65 gallon and 95 gallon trash cart sizes. Rates are:

• 65 gallon: $39.62 per 2 months
• 95 gallon: $45.24 per 2 months

Accounts are billed bi-monthly.

Recycling Options

There are limited recycling options for Sierra Vista residents:

• Waste Management Recycling Center at the landfill for cardboard, plastic, paper, aluminum.
• Goodwill donation center accepts clothing, housewares, electronics.
• Some grocery stores have recycling drop-offs for plastic bags.

The city does not offer curbside recycling pickup currently.

Hazardous Waste Disposal

Household hazardous waste like chemicals, batteries, CFL bulbs, etc. should not be placed in trash carts. Sierra Vista holds periodic HHW collection events for proper disposal.
