The Woodlands Trash and Recycling Pickup Schedule

The Woodlands, Texas provides weekly curbside trash and recycling pickup for residents through a contract with Waste Management. Regular Weekly Service

• Trash collection occurs once per week on your designated day. Trash carts must be placed curbside by 7AM on collection day.

• Recycling collection also occurs once per week on your designated day. Recycling carts should be placed curbside by 7AM.

• Yard waste is collected manually once per week along with trash and recycling. Yard waste should be placed curbside in bags, bundles, or cans.

• Carts must be placed at the curb with handles facing your house. Leave 4 feet of clearance between carts and other objects for automated collection arms.

• Cart weight limit is 200 pounds each. Lids must close completely.

• Extra trash bags require a pink $1.78 tag available at Kroger Customer Service or The Woodlands Township Town Hall. Bags must be under 55 gallons and 40 pounds. Place extra bags beside carts, not on top.

Holiday Schedule

• There is no trash or recycling service on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

• After a holiday, service moves one day later that week (Mondays on Tuesday, Tuesdays on Wednesday, etc).

• Friday service occurs on Saturday after a holiday.

• The Woodlands Recycling Center is open year-round on Wednesdays 4PM-7PM and Saturdays 9AM-2PM.

• Place carts curbside on your regular day for other holidays.

Christmas Trees

• Remove all decorations, lights, and stands from trees before placing curbside.

• Green Christmas trees are collected with regular yard waste pickup.

Bulky and Heavy Items

• Allow at least 2 business days notice before your collection day.

• Limit of 4 cubic yards per pickup (about the size of a Volkswagen Beetle).

• Do not place bulky items or construction debris in carts.

Yard Waste

• Yard waste is collected weekly on your designated day.

• Place leaves, grass, small branches (under 4 feet and 50 pounds) in bags, bundles, or cans curbside.
