If your regular collection day falls on or after one of these holidays, pickup will slide to the next day.

Trash Cart Policies

Broken Arrow provides residents with one 96-gallon trash cart for weekly pickup. Carts have a 336 pound weight limit.

Only city-issued trash carts will be serviced. Personal trash cans will not be emptied by collection crews.

Trash Cart Maintenance

Follow these tips to keep your trash and recycling carts clean and functional:

  • Bag all trash to keep the carts clean and control odors.
  • Avoid overloading carts over the 336 pound weight limit.
  • Report damaged carts to request repairs or replacements.
  • Separate trash and recycling correctly. Do not use the recycling cart for trash.
  • Rinse recycling carts as needed to keep them clean and prevent bugs.
  • Place cart handles facing the house. This signals to crews that the cart needs service.
  • Move carts away from curbs when not in use. Do not store on streets.

Storing carts properly and separating trash from recycling ensures efficient, timely, and convenient collection.
