Trash Collection Schedule
- Trash collection occurs weekly on the same day each week
- Collection day is determined by your home address
- To find your trash collection day:
- Use the Garbage Day Lookup tool on the city website
- Enter your full or partial house number and street name (e.g. 150 City Park Way)
- Your collection day will be displayed
- Trash carts should be placed curbside by 6:00AM on your collection day
Recycling and Yard Waste Collection
- Recycling and yard waste collection occurs on the same day as trash collection, but on alternating weeks
- Find your recycling and yard waste weeks using the Collection Calendar
- Place recycling and yard waste carts curbside by 6:00AM on your scheduled collection day
Holiday Schedule
- Trash collection is only impacted by Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays
- If your normal collection day falls on or after the holiday:
- Collection will be delayed by 1 day that week
- For example, if your normal day is Tuesday and the holiday is Monday, collection will be on Wednesday that week
- For all other holidays, collection is on the normal schedule

Recycling Contamination
- Brentwood provides single-stream recycling collection
- All recyclables can be placed in carts together, no sorting needed
- Avoid “contamination” by only placing acceptable items in recycling:
- Paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic containers (#1-7), glass bottles and jars
- Keep food, liquids, plastic bags, styrofoam and other “tanglers” out of recycling
Yard Waste Collection
- Yard waste collection occurs on the same day as recycling collection
- Place leaves, grass clippings, small branches in carts or paper bags
- Avoid plastic bags, dirt, rocks, food scraps
Cardboard Recycling
- Drop off clean/flattened cardboard at 2300 Elkins Way
- Open Monday-Saturday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM
