Service Days
Trash collection occurs once per week on your designated day. There are different pickup schedules for the east and west sides of Longmont:
West Side
- Monday: West of Main Street
- Tuesday: Between Main Street and Pratt Parkway
- Wednesday: East of Pratt Parkway
East Side
- Thursday: North of Ken Pratt Blvd
- Friday: South of Ken Pratt Blvd

Holiday Schedules
Trash pickup is suspended on major holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Presidents’ Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
If your normal collection day falls on or after a holiday, pickup is delayed by one day that week.

Missed Pickups
If your trash wasn’t collected on your scheduled day, here are some potential reasons:

Trash Policies
Follow these guidelines for smooth trash collection:
- Place cart at curb by 7 AM on pickup day.
- Carts must be 3 feet apart from other objects.
- Don’t overload carts over the top rim.
- Bag and tie trash to prevent litter.
- Maximum cart weight is 200 lbs.
Large Items
You can schedule pickup of large, oversized items that don’t fit in your cart, including:
- Furniture
- Appliances
- Mattresses
- Carpeting
- Tree branches
Contact Waste Services at least 48 hours before your collection day to schedule large item pickup. Fees apply.
Options for Prohibited Items
Some items cannot be collected with regular trash, such as:
- Hazardous waste
- Construction debris
- Dirt, rocks, concrete
- Tires
You can drop these off at the Longmont Waste Diversion Center for proper disposal. Fees may apply. Other options:
- Schedule a special hauler for construction debris removal
- Take scrap metal to a recycling facility
