Service Overview
- Trash collection is once per week
- Recycling is collected weekly on the same day as trash
- Services provided by Waste Connections under a city contract
- 95 gallon carts provided for trash and recycling
Collection Days
Frisco trash and recycling are collected weekly on the same day. Find your collection day by entering your address.
Both carts should be placed curbside by 7AM on collection day with handles facing the house. Carts should be 3 feet apart and away from obstacles.
Trash Guidelines
- All trash must be bagged and fit inside cart with lid fully closed
- No loose trash is allowed
- Overflowing carts will not be collected
Accepted trash items include aluminum foil, food waste, pet waste, and other routine household trash.
Items not accepted for regular collection include electronics, hazardous waste, recyclables, and construction debris.
Extra Trash
For excess trash that won’t fit in the cart, residents can:
- Purchase city-approved trash bags from retailers
- Schedule a bulk pickup for a fee by calling Waste Connections
- Self-haul to the Custer Road Transfer Station
Recycling Guide
Frisco accepts a wide variety of recyclables in the blue carts, including:
- Paper and cardboard
- Plastic containers
- Glass bottles and jars
- Metal food cans
- Milk and juice cartons
Bagged recyclables and food waste are not allowed. Rinse containers to remove residue.

Yard Waste Collection
- Yard waste collected weekly on trash day from March-November
- Place in paper bags or bundled brush (no plastic bags)
- Leaf and brush dropoff also available at Environmental Collection Center
Christmas trees are collected curbside for recycling in January.
Bulk and Brush Collection
- Bulk items (furniture, appliances) are collected weekly by request
- Limit of 5 items per pickup scheduled by calling Environmental Services
- Fees apply for TVs, monitors, mattresses, and large furniture
Holiday Schedule
Trash and recycling are not collected on these holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Collection is delayed one day the remainder of holiday weeks.

- Monthly trash fee – $23.05
- Extra trash bags – $11.25 per roll of 5 bags
- Recycling cart – $8.05 per month
