Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule in Rockville, Maryland

Collection Days

• Trash, recycling, and yard waste are collected once per week on designated days based on your address.

• Find your collection day by entering your address on the collection day lookup site.

• Collection occurs between 6:30am and 4:30pm on your scheduled day.

Collection Policies

• Carts must be placed at the curb or alleyway by 6am on collection day.

• Wheels should face the curb, lid opening toward the street. Keep 3ft clearance from objects.

• Carts must be removed within 24 hours of collection.

• Do not put materials in plastic bags or cardboard boxes next to carts.

Accepted Curbside Materials

Trash: All household waste except hazardous materials. Use city-provided carts.

Recycling: Paper, cardboard, metal cans, glass bottles/jars, plastic containers. Use city-provided carts.

Yard Waste: Grass clippings, leaves, brush. Use paper bags or reusable containers labeled “yard waste.”

Obtaining Carts

• Rockville’s Transfer Station accepts large household items that don’t fit in trash carts.
