Southlake, Texas Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule

Southlake, Texas provides trash and recycling collection services to residents through a contract with Community Waste Disposal (CWD). This article provides an overview of trash, recycling, bulk items, brush, and seasonal leaf collection schedules for Southlake households.

Trash Collection

• Trash is collected twice per week on Mondays/Thursdays or Tuesdays/Fridays depending on your neighborhood.

• Carts or bags should be placed curbside by 7AM on collection days. Collection occurs between 7AM-7PM.

• Trash should be placed in customer-provided containers, bags or boxes. Containers cannot exceed 50 pounds when filled.

• Trash and recycling carts must be placed at least 3 feet apart. Keep 3 feet of clearance from mailboxes, cars, fences, etc.

Recycling Collection

• Recycling is collected once per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays depending on your neighborhood.

• A 95-gallon cart is provided for recyclables. No bagged recycling.

• Carts should be placed curbside by 7AM on collection day. Collection is between 7AM-7PM.

• Place cart wheels toward house, lid closed, 3 feet from obstacles.

• Acceptable recyclables:

  • Paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, plastic bottles and jugs, glass bottles and jars

Bulk and Brush Collection

• Bulk items and bundled brush are collected on your regular trash days.

• Limit of 2 cubic yards of bulk items per collection.

• Brush must be tied and bundled in 4ft x 2ft piles weighing less than 50 lbs. Unlimited bundles accepted.

Loose Brush Collection

• Loose brush collection is available once per month by calling 972-392-9300 opt 2.

• Up to 12 cubic yards collected per year.

• Schedule:

  • Recycling day – Loose brush day

    Monday – 1st Wednesday

    Tuesday – 2nd Wednesday

    Thursday – 3rd Wednesday

    Friday – 4th Wednesday

• Call by 12PM Friday before your designated Wednesday

Seasonal Leaf Recycling

• Collected curbside on designated Saturdays and Wednesdays:

  • Monday/Thursday trash days:

    • November 15, 29

    • December 6, 13

    • January 10, 24

  • Tuesday/Friday trash days:

    • November 18

    • December 2, 9, 16

    • January 13, 27

• Bag leaves in any bags, limit 50 lbs per bag

• Separate leaf bags from other waste

• If over 20 bags, call 972-392-9300 opt 2 before pickup day

Hazardous Waste Disposal

• Household hazardous waste (HHW) collection occurs 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month

• Schedule pickup by calling 972-392-9300 opt 2 at least 2 weeks in advance

• Accepted HHW: Poisons, oil-based paints, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, electronics

• Follow kit instructions for preparing materials. Do not place curbside.

Holiday Schedule

Trash and recycling collection are suspended on:

• Thanksgiving (Thursday schedule shifts 1 day)

• Christmas Day (Monday schedule shifts 1 day)

• New Years Day (Monday schedule shifts 1 day)
