Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule in North Port, FL

Overview

• Trash is collected weekly on designated weekdays based on location.
• Recycling is collected weekly on the same day as trash.
• Yard waste is also collected weekly on trash day.
• Collection services are suspended on major holidays.

Trash Collection

• Trash is collected once per week on the following days:
  • Monday: Sections 1, 2, 3
  • Tuesday: Sections 4, 5, 6
  • Wednesday: Sections 7, 8, 9
  • Thursday: Sections 10, 11, 12
  • Friday: Sections 13, 14, 15
• Trash must be placed in city-provided carts and set curbside before 6AM on collection day.
• Extra trash must be in bags next to carts. Bagged yard waste is collected on trash day.
• Use the collection day lookup to find your designated trash day.

Recycling Collection

• Recycling is collected weekly on the same day as trash.
• The city provides two recycling carts – one for paper and one for commingled containers.
• Accepted recyclables include paper, cardboard, metal cans, plastic bottles, jugs, and glass.
• Carts must be placed curbside before 6AM on collection day. Do not bag recyclables.

Yard Waste Collection

• Yard waste is collected weekly on the same day as trash.
• Grass clippings, leaves, branches must be placed in containers or biodegradable bags.
• Bundles of branches can be up to 4 feet long and 18 inches in diameter.

Bulk Item Collection

• Bulk items like furniture are collected by appointment only.
• Each household gets 2 free bulk pickups per year, up to 5 cubic yards each.
• Additional pickups can be scheduled for a fee based on volume.

Holiday Schedule

• Collection services are suspended on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

• Collection moves to the following day for the remainder of the week after a holiday.
