- Good Friday – Friday before Easter
- Memorial Day – Last Monday in May
- Juneteenth – June 19

Holiday Schedule for Trash and Recycling Pickup
The Philadelphia Streets Department Sanitation Division does not provide trash or recycling collection services on holidays. If your regular pickup day is on or after the holiday, expect collection to be postponed by one day.
For example, if your usual pickup day is Monday and the holiday falls on Monday, expect pickup to occur on Tuesday instead. Tuesday’s pickup will move to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, etc. Normal collection resumes the following week.
This affects both trash and recycling pickup schedules citywide.
