Trash Collection

• Trash pickup occurs once per week on a designated day.

• Residents are provided with one 95-gallon automated green garbage cart.

• Extra carts can be requested for an additional monthly fee.

• Trash carts must be placed at the curb by 6:30AM on collection day.

• All trash must be bagged inside carts. Loose trash will not be collected.

• Carts should be removed from the curb by 7AM the following day.

• Monthly trash service costs $22.76 for single family homes.

Recycling Collection

• Recycling is collected weekly on the same day as trash.

• Materials should be clean, dry and empty.

• Accepted recyclables include:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Aluminum cans
  • Tin cans
  • Plastic containers #1-2, #5
  • Glass
  • Magazines, junk mail, soft cover books

• Items should be loose in the provided blue recycling cart, not bagged.

• Extra carts can be requested from the city’s contracted recycler, WastePro.

Yard Waste Collection

• Yard waste and bulk items are collected manually each week.

• Yard waste must be containerized or bundled weighing under 50 lbs:

  • Leaves/grass in bags or cans
  • Branches/brush cut to 4 foot lengths and bundled

• Up to 4 cubic yards of yard waste is collected per week at no extra cost.

• Excess yard waste requires a special pickup fee.

Bulk Item Collection

• Two bulk items, like furniture or mattresses, are collected weekly.

• Additional bulk items can be scheduled by contacting Solid Waste.

• Bulk items must be separate from other waste by 3 feet.

Appliance Collection

• Appliances containing refrigerants like AC units require special pickup.

• Contact Solid Waste to schedule curbside appliance collection.

• A prepaid fee of $15-$25 applies to collect refrigerant-containing appliances.

Holiday Schedule

• There are no trash or recycling changes for these holidays:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Good Friday
  • Juneteenth
  • Veterans Day

• Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years affect collection days:

  • If your pickup day falls on or after the holiday, it shifts one day later that week.

• Excess food waste can be placed in white bags outside carts the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.
