Duval County provides trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste collection services to residents in Jacksonville, Florida. This article provides an overview of collection schedules, holiday schedules, and how to look up your personalized collection calendar.

Waste Collection Schedules

Trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste are collected on designated days depending on your location in Duval County.

Trash Collection

• Trash is collected 1-2 times per week depending on your location.
• Trash should be placed curbside in garbage cans or bags before 6 AM on your designated collection day.
• Trash collection occurs weekly or biweekly on the same day(s) every week.

Recycling Collection

• Recycling is collected weekly on your designated recycling day.
• Recyclable materials should be placed curbside in your provided recycling bin before 6 AM on your recycling day.
• Common recyclables include paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, steel cans, plastic bottles and jugs, and glass bottles and jars.

Yard Waste Collection

• Yard waste is collected weekly on your designated yard waste collection day.
• Yard waste such as leaves, grass clippings, and small branches should be placed curbside in garbage cans or paper yard waste bags before 6 AM on your collection day.
• Yard waste should not exceed 4 feet in length or 50 pounds.

Bulk Waste Collection

• Bulk items such as furniture, appliances, and other large items are collected monthly on your designated bulk collection day.
• Bulk items should be placed curbside before 6 AM on your scheduled bulk day.
• Bulk items should not exceed 4 feet in length, width, or height and 50 pounds in weight.

Holiday Schedules

Collection schedules are only adjusted for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

• For Thanksgiving: If your normal collection day falls on Thanksgiving Day, collection will occur on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

• For Christmas: If your regular collection day falls on Christmas Day (Monday 12/25), your collection will occur on Saturday 12/30.

All other holidays do not affect the normal collection schedule.
